Lesson 9 has been one of the interesting lessons for the semester. I had the opportunity to read and watched video documentaries of two heroes Catherine Rohr and Corey Bell in the world of business and entrepreneurship. I learn from Catherine Rohr that transformation in life is not a one day experience but rather one step at a time experience. We need to be faithful to our plans, hoping to do what is right regardless of how the outcome will turn out to be. His dream was to see people life change for better. I was so touched when he said the rich place on earth is the Cemetery where people die with great idea which were never implemented. Corey Bell focus was to exhibit his talent and plans by set up his own company but not to go about working for other.

Finding Great People
Finding Great People
I believe one
of the major success in business is to initiate some main core such as Values
Safety, Caring, Integrity, Fun and Passion.
In any given company where these core values are spell out will go a
long way helping the company achieve its goals. It creates unity and cordial
relation between employee and customers. Employee should be customer oriented,
were taught to be safe by not taking in alcohol or drugs and showing to be
productive. There is also the need for managers to be more sensitive to the
power of language.
This week I have also learned some steps we need to take to get the right
people into our organization. Some suggestions were as follows
1. Commit
to take as much time as you need in order to find the right person for the job.
2. Know
what you are looking for. Decide what qualifications your employee needs to
have and what kind of person will fit the culture and values of the company.
3. Before
meeting any candidates, write out a job description. Include in the description
a list of the following items: (a) what work experience the person must have,
(b) what the job entails, and (c) a contract or work agreement stating what
hours the employee will work, what the employee will be paid, how often the
employee will be evaluated, and what consequences will apply if certain
conditions of the contract are not met.
4. Check
each applicant’s references from other jobs.
5. Get
to know the people you consider hiring. Interview them at least twice. If you
already have a trusted employee, have that employee do some of the interviewing
as well.

Leadership Style
Leadership Style
One of the key things I have learn this week on leadership
style is that a leader cannot
ignore the work-centred activities. He should see that activities are planned,
programs are set up, materials are in order, and assignments are made and
followed through. But all of this must be done in the general atmosphere of an
overriding concern for those who must do the work and carry out the
assignments. When people feel that their superior thinks the work is more
important than the people who do it, their motivation to work is hindered.
In this case it my pleasure to say that best leadership style is the one who
combine the three major leadership skills which are Democratic, paternalistic
and autocratic. I strongly believe that as a leader there will be a situation or
some circumstance where one of these leadership style will be need.
I once recall Elder Christopherson saying “Leaders need
to be humble up, as well as humble down.
They need to be able to give clear and honest feedback, being willing to
say what needs to be said and say it honestly.
We need leaders who don’t only paint the down side or the good side, but
paint the truth. They are well informed
and honest, can express their ideas with accuracy, and always bring
recommendations with them.” The savoir who was the greatest leader ever know exhibited this great leadership skill of
humbleness, honesty and standing for the truth.

Creating a successful Business
Creating a successful Business
There are very few things a business can do to change the cycle of mediocrity to a cycle of success. One could be the need to start putting together your small ideas and implementing them because the Ideas do not need to be huge to have a big impact. To improve a business and become successful, a business can also adapt the need to experimentation and innovation that are critical and essential to high grow and performance. For a cycle of success we could also consider the need to Increase the number of customers of the type you want to have, Increase the number of times customers come back, Increase the average value of each sale, increase the effectiveness of each process in the business or increase your productivity. As a business owner you could also create the means to listen to feedback from your customers.
Giving of feedbacks are one of the most important principle and practice in business. Taking the creation of the world as an example, Heavenly Father instructed Jehovah (Jesus Christ) and Michael to go down and organize the earth. Within all the six creative periods we witness the act of giving feedback from Jehovah and Michael to Heavenly father. This clearly shows that “feedbacks” are divine principle which has been practice before the creation of this earth. Feedbacks help business owners to improve your business, product, service and experience and can also be used to identify customer’s advocates. Feedbacks for customers help delivers tangible data that can be used to make better set goals and make better business decisions and can also help improves customer retention by providing the real needs of your customers. It can create an experience that may keep customer coming back and advertising your product to others, friends family etc. finally feedbacks from customers can improve services and can also measure customers satisfaction
